Casen Recordati

Recordati is an international pharmaceutical group which headquarter is based in Milan (Italy). The company is specialized in the distribution, development and innovation, fabrication, and commercialization of pharmaceutical products worldwide, with the objective of improving patients’ life.

The group was founded in 1926 and started its internationalization in Spain in 1995, keeping its success and standard of quality.

The group continued growing by acquiring the company Orphan Europe in 2007 (i.e., currently “Recordati Rare Diseases”), becoming leader in the treatment of rare diseases and increasing the investments for developing products related to these conditions.

Casen Recordati is the Spanish affiliate of the Recordati group since 2014.

The activities of the department of pharmaceutical technology and preclinical are mainly focused on both the development of new products and on implementing the properties of the current products of the company. 

We are open to set up strategic alliances with other companies, to complete and extend our business areas, to keep growing both at a national and internation level, along with our partners.

Capacities

The R&D centre, created in 2004 and based in Utebo (Zaragoza), is part of the medical department (located in Madrid) and is composed by a group of highly qualified professionals.

The laboratories are divided into two main areas: formulation and analysis. The area of formulation is specialized in the development of liquid, solid and semisolid preparations, while the area of analysis work in strict synergy with the area of formulation, with the objective of analysing the new products, develop analytical methods and produce the data needed to release the products to the market.

Since 2010, the R&D centre includes a pilot plant which operates with its own quality system based on the ICH Q8 and under the GMP regulations (i.e., certification recognized by the AEMPS, Agencia Española de Medicamentos y Productos Sanitarios). authorized by the AEMPS for the fabrication and packaging of medications for clinical trials (EU GMP Annex 13).
